INTERNSHIP AND WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Placement opportunities at Breede Valley Municipality
The Breede Valley Municipality invites students and unemployed persons currently residing in the Breede Valley Municipal area to apply for an opportunity to be placed within the Breede valley Municipality for 18-month work experience opportunity.
Programme and Entry requirements
This is an 18-month work experience placement programme in the Breede Valley Municipality, and applicants will be selected on the following:
1. CRITERIA: Persons with a TVET N6 qualification that needs 18 months’ work experience for a National Diploma. Letter from TVET college stating that student qualify for 18 month practical.
The programmes will be as follows:
- WIL - Human Resources Management (Ref: HRM09/WINTERN01)
- WIL - Public Management/ Administration & Management Assistant (Ref: PM09/WINTERN02)
- WIL - Economics, Accounting or Finance, Internal Auditing or Risk Management, (Ref: EAI09/WINTERN03)
- WIL - Project Management (Ref: PM09/WINTERN04)
- WIL – Engineering/ Architecture/ Building/ Electrical/ Civil Construction/ Construction Management/ Mechanical/ Quantity Surveying (Ref: ENG09/WINTERN05)
- WIL – Town and Regional Planning (Ref: TRP09/WINTERN06)
- WIL – Building Control (Ref: BC09/WINTERN07)
- WIL – ICT (Ref: ICT09/WINTERN08)
- WIL – Media and Communications (Ref: MC09/WINTERN17)
2. CRITERIA: Persons that have graduated with an NQF level 6 and above education qualification that is applicable in the Municipal Environment and want to get work experience in the following disciplines:
- Human Resources Management (Ref: HRM09/GINTERN09)
- Public Management / Administration & Management Assistant (Ref: PM09/GINTERN10)
- Project Management (Ref: PM09/GINTERN11)
- Engineering – Architecture/ Building/ Electrical/ Civil Construction/ Construction Management/ Mechanical/ Quantity Surveying (Ref: ENG09/GINTERN12)
- Town and Regional Planning (Ref: TRP09/GINTERN13)
- Building Control (Ref: BC09/GINTERN 14)
- ICT (Ref: ICT09/GINTERN15)
- Environmental Studies (Ref: ES09/GINTERN16)
- Media and Communications (REF: MC09/GINTERN18)
The Breede Valley Municipality, subject to available workplaces, will try to appoint successful applicants across the Municipal area. Applicants should also be aware that the Municipality have limited space available and cannot accommodate all qualifications but endeavour to assist within the Municipal budget allocated for Work integrated learning.
- Scope of Work and Duties
- Will be determined by the qualification or Work Integrated Learning log sheet, or
- Will be determined by the department in which an applicant is placed
- Stipends will be as follows:
- TVET N6 Education Qualification: R 4000.00
- Graduate Internship Programme: R 6000.00
