PUBLIC NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 33 OF THE MFMA (ACT 56 OF 2023)

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ENTER INTO A LONG-TERM CONTRACT WITH SERVICE PROVIDER (HCB VALUATIONS AND SERVICES (PTY LTD)) FOR A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY SEVEN YEARS TO RENDER THE COMPILATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE GENERAL VALUATION (GV) AND SUPPLEMENTARY VALUATION (SV) ROLLS

The Breede Valley Municipality hereby gives notice in terms of Section 33 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act (No. 56 of 2003) of its intention to enter into a contract with “HCB Valuations and Services (Pty) Ltd” for a period exceeding three financial years, ending 30 June 2031, to render the services mentioned above.

• The intended contract period is broken down as follows:
• Year 1 (2024/25) – Award Date (Subject to the approval of s33 by Council) until 30 June 2025: (Data Collection)
• Year 2 (2025/26) – 1 July 2025 until 30 June 2026: (Draft GV and appeals process)
• Year 3 (2026/27) – 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2027: (Implementation of GV and SV1)
• Year 4 (2027/28) – 1 July 2027 until 30 June 2028: (Supplementary Valuation 2)
• Year 5 (2028/29) – 1 July 2028 until 30 June 2029: (Supplementary Valuation 2)
• Year 6 (2029/30) – 1 July 2029 until 30 June 2030: (Supplementary Valuation 2)
• Year 7 (2030/31) – 1 July 2030 until 30 June 2031: (Supplementary Valuation 2)

Per Sections 21 and 21A of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000), notice is given to the public to submit comments or representations (should there be any) regarding the intended decision to enter a long-term contract.
