Public Notice: Long Term Contract with Nedbank

PUBLIC NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 33 OF THE MFMA (ACT 56 OF 2023)

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ENTER INTO A LONG-TERM CONTRACT WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDER, NEDBANK LIMITED, FOR THE PROVISION OF BANKING SERVICES FOR A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING FIVE (5) YEARS.

The Breede Valley Municipality hereby gives notice, in terms of Section 33 of the Local Government Municipal Finance Management Act (No. 56 of 2003), of its intention to enter a contract with Nedbank Limited for a period not exceeding five (5) financial years, ending on 30 June 2030, for the provision of the banking services as outlined above.

The intended contract period is broken down as follows:

• Year 1 (2025/26) – Award Date (Subject to approval of section 33 by Council) 1 July 2025 until 30 June 2026
• Year 2 (2026/27) – 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2027
• Year 3 (2027/28) – 1 July 2027 until 30 June 2028
• Year 4 (2028/29) – 1 July 2028 until 30 June 2029
• Year 5 (2029/30) – 1 July 2029 until 30 June 2030

Notice is given to the public in accordance with Section 21 and 21A of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000), to submit comments or representations (should there be any) in respect of the intended decision to enter a long-term contract.

Alternatively, submissions may be placed in the municipality’s tender box located at 51B or 53 Baring Street, Worcester.

The closing date for submission of comments is on Friday, 6 June 2025 at 11:00am
