The ward is made up of the following land use zones

Mountains

On the most southern part of the ward, a portion of the Du Toits Kloof Mountain range is situated, forming the barrier between Ward 21 and Ward 19.

Rivers

The Breede River flows through the ward, past the Brandvlei Dam.

Dams

There are 3 dams situated in Ward 21.

  • Category 2: Brandvlei-wit Dam
  • Category 3: Greater Brandvlei Dam and the Kwaggaskloof Dam
Residential

Ward 21 comprises of low income housing as well as an Informal Settlement:

  • Low Income area is known as Avian Park.
  • The Informal Settlement is known as Rolihlahla/Smarty Town Informal Settlement.
